This Vestibule of Principle & Rationale is not only the first room you enter in the palace, it is also the place from which all kinds of installations and traveling exhibitions leave the building. Indeed, the palace manifests itself outside its own walls as well. Hence, this is where we find the Sliding Drawer Tool Box.
It was designed by the initiator in collaboration with Lowies van Zanen in order to collect the palace's entire collection of publications in a single object that can be on display anywhere, for instance at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Think of this box as the storage space where the tools of the typographic mason - the many facets covered in this building and translated by colleagues into various publications - have their place.
