“I wanted to design, I wanted to make things”, Anthon Beeke says about growing up in the sixties, “no one can take that away from you. I wanted to be a free person”. As the son of an Amsterdam plasterer, he was not destined to it, but he secretly opted for an evening class in arts and crafts.
