Joost Grootens, today one of Holland's most celebrated designers, applies rigorous thinking to books, atlases and information design with his Studio Joost Grootens (SJG). A monograph on SJG's work entitled 'I swear I use no art at all' was published in 2010 by 010 Publishers. His dissertation "Blind Maps and Blue Dots" is the first work to explore the vanishing boundaries between producers and users of maps and show the blurring of the binary distinction between them, ultimately offering an entirely new approach to graphic design.
