Just like the history of ornament stretches far and wide, influences from afar stray into The Department of Ornament. From their travels to South-Korea, the mason’s of Team Thursday brought with them a fascination for mysterious brickwork patterns, found during their residency in Seoul. Once back in their Rotterdam based studio, these ornamental patterns were sorted, categorised, extracted, traced, flipped, repeated, distorted, shed or reduced into workable blocks for the design of the table cloths of Von Wersin’s Kitchen.
