In three ways, work is done in the Department of Ornament at The Palace of Typographic Masonry. This publication brings them together.
First of all by publishing the text ‘The Redemptive Qualities Of Ornament’ written by Dirk Vis.
Secondly, Rietlanden Women’s Office (RWO) was invited to design the portal to the Department of Ornament. Their design was split fountain printed with four Pantones at Zwaanlenoir folded back to A4. On the backside, they did the typesetting of Dirk Vis' text.
The publication made possible within the Public Programme of the Network Archives Design and Digital Culture (NADD).
And thirdly The Palace of Typographic Masonry updated the source collection in Von Wersin’s Kitchen. The update is an attempt to provide an overview of how the categories of elementary decorative elements can be recognised in a variety of graphic design objects.
