"Graphisme en France" is the digital platform of the ‘Centre national des arts plastiques’ (CNAP) dedicated to graphic design in France. Every year this platform issues a publication and in the 26th edition, which will be published in March, sheds its light on how designers write texts or manifestos within their own practice or their profession in general.
On the occasion of this, Richard Niessen has added a new space to The Palace of Typographic Masonry entitled The Written Keystones, where a number of texts, lectures and manifestos of his predecessors are brought together. The Palace of Typographic Masonry would sink into the swamp if he didn’t stabilise it with the idealistic cornerstones that are highlighted here, placed in the context of social tendencies, linked to Niessen's own experiences as a graphic designer and shown how they reverberate to this day in The Palace of Typographic Masonry.
