The Chamber of Transformation is a room dedicated to play and experimentation with action elements of graphic design. It is a place where “Action to Surface” happens. It’s a room celebrating participation and activity. It’s a site-specific archive spanning from avant-garde typography examples to activism. From printed matter to “eventness”. From “flux boxes” to interactive games and roleplay.
Part of the opening evening is a lecture on Performative design. The Rodina defines it as a transformative, integrative and post-critical practice that embraces “eventness” and chance, and has the power to activate viewers. It is a process that favours presence over representation.
