The Victoria & Alferd Museum

The Victoria & Alferd museum is a "not-for-profit institution founded by Prune Victoria and Inga-lill Alferd. The collection is based on personal curiosity, an interest for mistakes and tautological anomailes. The Victoria & Alferd Museum does not own any of the items but wish to share the availability of the associated stories. It does not see space, ownership or fiction as an obstacle to the collection." Initiated by design collective Åbäke, it all started by thinking that exhibitions could be organised conceptually and made just about real using the graphic design tools of printed matter. Over time, and thanks to residencies or direct invitations to shows, this fictitious museum or series of imaginary exhibitions became real, therefore almost cancelling the initial idea.
