So far

The billboard, placed at the entrance of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, functions as an open platform for experiments and notices from and for students. The challenge is to make a strong image with limited resources; a maximum of 4 A0 screens has to become a printed image measuring 125 by 500 centimeters. Many students and teachers of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Institute use the billboard for group-projects, academy affairs or personal challenges. With their work they attract other curious students to explore the screenprint workshop. Kees Maas ran this workshop for 23 years (from 1996-2019) non-stop testing the possiblities of silkscreen printing. For his farewell party Kees Maas made one last Billboard: SO FAR (2019).
